Four-time cancer survivor shot dead at home by a stray bullet in Colorado

Jennifer James, a 49-year-old single mother of four from Berthoud, Colorado, was shot and killed by a stray bullet inside her own home on the night of April 28, 2025. The woman had survived breast cancer four times over twenty years and was still undergoing treatment when she died. A 20-year-old man was arrested three days later and charged with first-degree murder.
