Hidden-object puzzle: where the 4 items are and why most people miss one

From the easy lamp to the near-invisible pill: where each object hides

The lamp is the most straightforward find: it sits beside the bed, in a position where a lamp would naturally be expected. The comb is tucked near the foot of the bed, where it blends into the folds of the bedding or the lines of the furniture.

The nail is more challenging. It is worked subtly into the surrounding details of the scene, with no obvious visual cue to draw the eye toward it.

The pill is the hardest of all. It is hidden inside the old woman’s mouth, where its small size makes it resemble part of her tongue or the interior of her mouth. Once spotted, though, it becomes impossible to unsee — a classic feature of well-designed hidden-object puzzles.

Practical tips and the real cognitive benefits of these puzzles

If you struggled, the recommended approach is to slow down and work through the image systematically. Search one section at a time, and pay close attention to shapes or details that seem slightly out of place.

If you get stuck, looking away for a few seconds can help. Returning to the image with fresh eyes gives the brain a chance to notice something it previously filtered out.

Beyond the fun, these puzzles genuinely exercise several mental skills: concentration, attention to detail, visual memory, and pattern recognition. “They’re like mini workouts for your brain.” Missing one of the four objects is, by the puzzle’s own design, entirely normal — as the creators put it, “You just have to look a little closer.”
